Campership

About Campership:

  • A matching fund program with Illinois lodges to assist with the cost of attending summer or special camps.

  • Can be used for youth who are in high school or under.

  • Matching dollar per dollar with no cap set at this time.

  • The Lodge will share with parent/guardian about Campership and if interested provide the application

Campership Recipient Qualifications:

  • Be senior in high school or under.

  • Have an Illinois Master Mason relative in good standing, who is living or deceased.

  • Be able to show evidence of financial need if requested.

Parent/Guardian Application Role:

  • Parent/guardian will complete the Campership Applicant Information and Masonic Affiliation sections.

  • Attach the completed camp registration with payment instructions.

  • Return application to the Lodge Secretary.

  • Provide application 8 weeks before the registration deadline.

Lodge’s Role in the Application Process:

  • Lodge will select the Campership recipients based on identified need.

  • The Secretary will complete the Partnering Lodge Information section and document vote approving Campership.

  • A copy of Lodge’s check on behalf of the Campership recipient must be attached to the application

  • Send completed application with attached copy of check by mail or email to: IMCAP@ilmason.org or IMCAP, 2866 Via Verde, Springfield, IL 62703.

What to Expect After Applying:

  • Your application will be reviewed by the IMCAP Director

  • The Director will call or email the parent/guardian for more details if needed.

  • Campership application will be presented to the Board of Managers to determine approval during the monthly meeting.

  • The decision about the match will be communicated by email or phone to the Lodge Secretary and parent/guardian.

  • If the Campership is approved, IMCAP will provide payment directly to the camp organizer.

  • A Campership Certificate will be sent to the Lodge Secretary to be presented to the selected camp participant.
