Masons and Scouts: A Great Partnership
Through the Youth Organization Connection, IMCAP has been able to partner with Illinois Masonic Lodges to make a difference in Lodge communities. Recently, IMCAP teamed up with Granville Lodge #1093 to help fund two young men to attend Boy Scout camp with the Granville Boy Scout Troop #1093.
The Granville Boy Scout Troop #1093 was founded in 2010 by a member of Granville Lodge #1093. He was himself an Eagle Scout and wanted to provide the same experiences as Boy Scouts to his local community. Granville Lodge #1093 sponsor the very active Boy Scout Troop. This troop engages in summer camp, Klondike Derby, parades, popcorn sales, camping outings, weekly meetings, and promoting Eagle Scouts. Currently, the Troop averages between 8 to 12 members.
Through partnering with IMCAP’s Youth Organization Connection, a total of $200 was donated to the Troop.
Does your Lodge have an idea of how to help youth in your local community?
